Patricia Hammond is a mezzo-soprano with wide-ranging gifts. Her meltingly lyrical voice is as comfortable in Bach and Handel as it is in her beloved nostalgic songs.

Patricia’s lifelong interest in Victorian, Edwardian, 1920s to 50s songs is celebrated with an exciting new 18-track CD Our Lovely Day, released November 14th, which follows the buzz created by her appearance on BBC Radio 4′s Midweek singing “Love’s Old Sweet Song” and her very moving performance at the Poppy Factory on Remembrance Day for the ex-servicemen and women of the British legion. Her revival of the sentimental favourites of the past has spearheaded a re-evaluation of these lovely songs that so vividly evoke a calmer, simpler world.
